ENGINE INTAKE AIRBOX CFD OPTIMISATION AND EXPERIMENTAL VALIDATION TESTS

The effective power of an internal combustion engine is determined by the amount air that drawn into cylinder. One basic requirements for intake even filling all cylinders. This paper deals with design airbox 4-cylinder 2.2 liter naturally aspirated SI engine. CFD simulation flow through serial was performed. showed uneven With help simulations, shape optimized to improve uniformity cylinders filling. validation tests real airboxes on bench were standard and compared. results confirmed simulations outputs. Furthermore, it has been shown filter chamber can contribute uniform research resulted in optimization engine's tract shape.
